Each SACRED CALLING WORKSHOP includes:

- An individual coaching session after our week 4 or 5 meeting.

How long is the workshop?
Each Sacred Calling Workshops lasts 5 weeks. We will meet as a cohort for 90 minute sessions on zoom.
How is the Workshop structured?
Sacred Calling Workshops are conducted by Dr. John Studebaker through Zoom and/or at the BMI Oasis in Richland, MI. They incorporate in-depth Scripture studies, group interaction and prayer, one-on-one coaching, and personal exercises aimed at developing a plan of action for knowing and courageously living your sacred calling.
How many people participate in each workshop?
Sacred Calling Workshops are conducted with groups from 4 to 40 participants. We encourage you to bring your spouse or staff person into the Workshop with you.
What is the cost, and what if cost is an issue?
Bridge Ministries, Inc. and the BMI Oasis operate on a donation-basis. We request $30 donation from each participant. You will also have an opportunity to support the BMI Oasis at the end of the Workshop.
Your donations will help to fund the BMI Oasis as we provide retreats and Sabbaticals for Pastors and missionaries. It will also help to fund Dr. Studebaker’s teaching through the LEMA Seminary (in Uganda, Nigeria, and Michigan).
Sacred Calling Cohort for Pastors and Christian Leaders
Pastors and Missionaries often speak about “receiving a call” to a particular church or ministry. However, the concept of “divine calling” goes much deeper than this. In Scripture and church history, a true calling from God is life-altering. God’s called Abraham to leave his home–at age 75!–and move to the promised land (Genesis 12). God called Moses to lead over a million people out of Egypt (Exodus 3). God’s call launched the ministry of each prophet (e.g., Jeremiah 1:2, 1:11, 33:19). The voice of the Lord will shape your identity and your destiny as well!
God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
“I will be with you. . . When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” (Exodus 3:4, 12)
These call narratives incorporate three aspects of divine calling: The VERTICAL Call (“I will be with you”), the HORIZONTAL Call (to “bring the people out of Egypt”) and a PRACTICAL Call (steps the God laid out to reach the ultimate goal, to “worship God on this mountain). This previously fearful man would now move forward with bold leadership and with a specific plan for implementation.
The SACRED CALLING COHORT for Christian Leaders: January-June 2026
This intensive Cohort for Pastors, Missionaries, and Christian leaders combines group sessions (every two weeks) that will root out subtle threats to our ministry, our joy, and our character and calling that lead to fatigue, burnout, conflict and discouragement. We will clarify your ministry call, develop stronger boundaries, and create an actionable blueprint for living and ministering with boldness and intentionality. PURPOSE
Your PURPOSE allows you to re-orient each activity in life toward your “upward call” in Christ. You’ll write a Purpose Statement, which combines your identity in Christ with your origin and destiny, and then apply your Purpose Statement to your personal life, family life, and ministry life in order to re-establish energy, truth, and boundaries to each area.

MISSION
Your MISSION is distinct from, but energized by, your Purpose. You will write a personal Mission Statement based on your unique God-given design–your Heart Motivations, Spiritual Gifts, Talents, and Passions. VOCA coaching will enable you to make this statement clear and actionable, as you’ll use this statement to create a blueprint for living your calling in your personal life, family and ministry.

VISION
VISION allows you to “hear God’s voice” as you make plans for your future life and ministry. You’ll develop vision by “looking ahead” at the next 12 months and then developing a step-by-step plan for living out your vision on a quarterly, and daily, basis.
You will work with a partner (during and after the workshop) to activate your purpose and mission, to enlarge your vision, to develop a realistic plan, to re-assess your plan, and to encourage one another to continue in this life-giving journey!
